The Invitation

The Invitation
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for
and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.

It doesn’t interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool
for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon...
I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow
if you have been opened by life’s betrayals
or have become shrivelled and closed
from fear of further pain.

I want to know if you can sit with pain
mine or your own
without moving to hide it
or fade it
or fix it.

I want to know if you can be with joy
mine or your own
if you can dance with wildness
and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes
without cautioning us to be careful
be realistic
remember the limitations of being human.

It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me is true.
I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself.
If you can bear the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.

If you can be faithlessand therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see Beauty
even when it is not pretty every day.
And if you can source your own life from its presence.

I want to know if you can live with failure
yours and mine
and still stand at the edge of the lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon,“Yes.”

It doesn’t interest me
to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up
after the night of grief and despair
weary and bruised to the bone
and do what needs to be doneto feed the children.

It doesn’t interest me who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the centre of the fire
with me
and not shrink back.

It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you
from the inside
when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone with yourself
and if you truly like the company you keep
in the empty moments.

Hampi Sister Stones

These are the Hampi sisters in Hampi, India. I was twice in Hampi, and besides all the pot smoking hippies it was a magical place to be! I was traveling and building roads with the Son of a Preacherman!! Now, then years later I live in a little village in the Netherlands, raising my daughter. I have a good friend Diana, who lives around the corner. Our friendship reminded me of those two old Rocks, Rocks to lean on! How to make this clear to her? By showing a picture of course, Diana you are my Sister Rock!

Global Warming causes New Ice Age

The Great Ocean Conveyor - The Achilles Heel of the climate system?

The global ocean is not a static pond, but a body in constant motion. Winds blow across its surface, generating waves and currents, while the pull of gravity gently sloshes it back and forth in a lunar rhythm of tides. But beneath these familiar surficial motions lies an enigmatic process which has profound implications for climate: the Great Ocean Conveyor (also called the thermohaline circulation). The Conveyor is one of the great unknowns in humanity's unintentional climate change experiment.

Are We on the Brink of a 'New Little Ice Age?'

By Terrence Joyce, Senior Scientist, Physical Oceanography andLloyd Keigwin, Senior Scientist, Geology & GeophysicsWhen most of us think about Ice Ages, we imagine a slow transition into a colder climate on long time scales. Indeed, studies of the past million years indicate a repeatable cycle of Earth’s climate going from warm periods (“interglacial”, as we are experiencing now) to glacial conditions.

North Atlantic Waters Become Steadily Less Salty
studies by Dickson et al. (Nature, 2002),
indicate that over the past 40 years, waters have become steadily less salty in the major North Atlantic Ocean regions where cold, salty water now sinks. Fresher water is less dense and does not sink as readily, which could result in a slowdown of the Ocean Conveyor.

Global Orgasm for Peace!!

It is true! Let's all have an orgasm the 22th of December!

GlobalOrgasm.org Mission Statement

The mission of the Global Orgasm is to effect change in the energy field of the Earth through input of the largest possible surge of human energy. Now that there are two more US fleets heading for the Persian Gulf with anti- submarine equipment that can only be for use against Iran, the time to change Earth’s energy is NOW! Read more about the fleet buildup here.
The intent is that the participants concentrate any thoughts during and after orgasm on peace. The combination of high- energy orgasmic energy combined with mindful intention may have a much greater effect than previous mass meditations and prayers.
The goal is to add so much concentrated and high-energy positive input into the energy field of the Earth that it will reduce the current dangerous levels of aggression and violence throughout the world.

Reviews:
"With a gentle smile and sometimes with a hearty laugh, Zen Master Gilbert points beyond the confines of our habitual views and established institutions. His unique style of teaching is an integration of original artwork, commentary and humor that is at once light-hearted and enjoyable.
"Just beneath this innocent-looking surface, though, The Upside Down Circle contains teachings of the profoundest order. Perhaps this book will lead you, too, with a laugh or a gasp, to knowings and feelings that open in time like flowers in gardens somehow outside the limitations of conditioned awareness." I shall not wear purple

by Margaret A. Frey

When I am old I shall not wear purple. I shall race down the street wearing nothing at all. Hair loose and flying, I shall wiggle and shimmy, then skip the tracks along High Street and Broad. I shall wail like a babe and howl like an Amazon, recite the Pledge of Allegiance, say the Our Father, too. No shield to cover me, no sword for protection, I'll cross myself twice and spit at the moon. They will come, no doubt, the uniformed men with thick fingers waggling. Let them come if they must. Let them come stone-faced or smirking, batons raised in the pre-dawn light. Let them march in jackboots and leather, tattoos flexing. They will not deter me; I am past that now. When I am old, my flesh shall be magic, a feathery cloak of impenetrable down. At the crossroads, I shall act out a pantomime, the five stages of woman: man, love, child, mother... utterly alone. I return to the start, the place of raw beginning. I arrive plucked, bare-assed, innocent and shameless. I once trembled with anger and gave a warrior's yell. I am here, I am now, though my heart beats staccato; it jumps and whirs like a moth in a jar. When I am old I shall not wear purple! I shall cast my arms to the blue-edged night and conjure spells to call down the Goddess. I shall jump and sway on the milky-white crescent, swing and shriek while my hair sweeps the ground. I shall spin and twirl and laugh like crazy tossing ashes and posies till we all fall down. I shall screech, I tell you. I shall scream bloody murder. Synchronize your clocks and "X" off the calendars. Blindfold the children then beeswax their ears. I sprint at daybreak, and I shall curse like a banshee.Watch me, hear me, remember me always, a silly old woman wearing nothing at all.

When i am an old woman

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick the flowers in other people's gardens
And learn to spit.

You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickle for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.

But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.

But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple

Albert Einstein

The intuitive mind is a sacred gift
and the rational mind is a faithful servant.
We have created a society that honours the servant
and has forgotten the gift.

Don't call me lazy

Don’t call me lazy 'cause I spend
my days in spending none at all.
Most things that busy others tend
to irk me being senseless thrall.

What always disappointed me,
made others earn esteem and praise.
Ant’s labour for a scanty fee
adds little sparkle to a phrase.

Yet unspent forces gather moment till
perhaps one day it will please
Time to cause me to ferment and spill
my giant beans in unbind rhyme.

Mitakuye oyasin (we are all connected)

Gaia, mother earth

We must learn to walk in balance
sacred steps to take
Weaving peace and understanding through all that we create
A tapestry of love and light
finest threads of gold
Sacred flame ever burning bright
through all that we behold
When we learn to walk in balance
the healing will take place
The healing of this earth our mother
the healing of the human race
A tapestry of love and light finest threads of gold
sacred flame ever burning bright
through all that we behold. -- Denean

Worlds funniest joke

From doctor Richard Wiseman's Laugh Lab.

A couple of New Jersey hunters are out in the woods when one of them falls to the ground.
He doesn't seem to be breathing, his eyes are rolled back in his head.
The other guy whips out his cell phone and calls the emergency services.
He gasps to the operator: "My friend is dead! What can I do?"
The operator, in a calm soothing voice says:"Just take it easy. I can help.
First, let's make sure he's dead".
There is a silence, then a shot is heard.
The guy's voice comes back on the line. He says: 'OK, now what?"

Each moment that you are happy

Each moment that you are happy is a gift to the rest of the world. - Harry Palmer

Oorlog is vrede

Oorlog is vrede

Don't quit

Don’t quit

Don’t quit when
the tide is lowest,
For it’s just about
to turn;
Don’t quit over doubts
and questions,
For there’s something
you may learn.

Don’t quit when
the night is darkest,
For it’s just a while
‘til dawn;
Don’t quit when you’ve
run the farthest,
For the race is almost won.

Don’t quit when
the hill is steepest,
For your goal
is almost nigh;
Don’t quit, for you’re
not a failure
Until you fail to try.

There is a crying

There is a crying
that happens at night
that does not come
while the light is with us.

There are things that cannot be evaded,
once the sun goes down
small nocturnal creatures
with sharp white teeth
silently gnaw
at the edges of belly and heart.

When the darkness descends
and the void inside grows larger
it can split you open.

And the bone in the centre of your chest
aches
like the cracked wishing bone from the turkey breast.

And if we are strong enough to be weak enough
we are given a wound that never heals
it is the gift that keeps the heart open.

A message from the Hopi Elders

We have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh Hour

Now you must go back and tell the people that this is the Hour
And there are things to be considered.
Where are you living?
What are you doing?
What are your relationships?
Are you in the right relation?
Where is your water? Know your garden.

It is time to speak your truth
Create your community.
Be good to each other.
And do not look outside yourself for the leader.
This could be a good time!

There is a river flowing now very fast,
it is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid.
They will try to hold onto the shore.
They will feel they are being torn apart and they will suffer greatly.
Know the river has its destination.
The elders say we must let go of the shore, and push off and into the river,
keep our eyes open, and our head above the water.
See who is in there with you and Celebrate.

At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally.
Least of all ourselves.
For the moment that we do,
our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.
The time of the lone wolf is over,
gather yourselves!
Banish the word struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary.
All that you do now must be done in a sacred manner
And in celebration.
"We are the ones we've been waiting for..."
The Elders, Hopi Nation, Oraibi, Arizona

Undercurrent

Beneath the broad tide of human history there flow the stealthy undercurrents of the secret societies, which frequently determine in the depths the changes that take place upon the surface.— A.E. Waite¹

If you can keep your head when all about you....

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!

African Moon

Denkend aan je

Herinner ik mij
en zie:
aan de diepzwarte Afrikaanse hemel
immens groot en kalm,
zweeft de maan
zo dichtbij

verzacht en verkoelt zij
kwetsbaarheid van leven.

Een schitterspel van sterren
zuigt mij steeds dieper
het heel-al binnen

Hier zweeft de maan
zacht en zo dichtbij
Maar
zie ik een kleine sikkel
ver van mij
op haar eigen pad door de ruimte,
donker zijn de nachten.

Nelson Mandela's inaugural speech

Words of wisdom from one of the greatest men in the history of mankind.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve this world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us; It is not just in some of us - it's in everyone! And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others!
Nelson Mandela - Inaugural Speech 1994

Banner of peace

BANNER OF PEACE

This symbol was created by visionary artist Nicholas Roerich
as a symbol of human unity. The Roerich Pact and Banner of Peace is an
international treaty signed by India, the Baltic States, and 22 nations of the
Americas including the United States. The Roerich Peace Pact established an
international agreement allowing any nation to protect its cultural or
artistic heritage with a symbolic banner, the Banner of Peace.
Signed in 1935, this treaty is international law today.

The three small circles represent the arts, science and spirituality
within the one greater circle of culture. The colour of the
Banner is red to represent the one blood we all share.

FLY THE FLAG OF PEACE
Put this flyer in your window or in your car and make a statement of
positive peace that says more than just “no war”.

WORLD PEACE NOW!
The world needs a vision of peace that goes beyond the cycle of war and “not
war” to create a unified global culture. If we just blindly react to our politicians
lead, we will never break this cycle. Peace is more than just the cessation of war.
It is a way of living: in tune with the planet and with each other.

WE CAN DO IT!
WE CAN CREATE PEACE!
Peace begins in each of our hearts and radiates out into our communities. By
being, thinking and acting peacefully together we can create world peace.
Together we are strong enough to make a difference!

A TOOL FOR PLANETARY PEACE
By living out of harmony with nature we have created an artificial planetary
environment that has been called the “technosphere”. One of the roots of this disharmony is our artificial timing system based on the clock and 12 Month
calendar. By replacing this with a biologically accurate 13 Moon Peace calendar
based on the cycles of natural time, we can help te restore harmony between
people and planet. By unifying in time, we can unify in peace.
Natural time knows no borders, no ideologies and no separation.

ONE TIME. ONE PEOPLE. ONE PLANET.
